Join our team
Work+Play Hub's team may be small, but we have a very large purpose. Whether you're applying for a role or offering your time as a volunteer — every person who joins us helps prove that a better system is possible.
Why join us
Work+Play Hub is Scotland's first fully integrated coworking and early years hub. We are a registered Scottish charity, a Stephen Lloyd Awards finalist, a City of Edinburgh Council partner, and a team that genuinely believes in what we're doing.
We are a small organisation in an early stage of growth. That means the roles are real, the impact is visible, and the people around you are motivated by purpose rather than profit.
We are committed to being a Living Wage employer and to building a team that reflects the community we serve.
Mission-drivenEvery role contributes directly to supporting working parents in Edinburgh.
Living Wage employerWe are committed to paying fair wages — because we believe in what we say about financial dignity.
Early stage, high impactYou will see the difference your work makes — directly, quickly, and clearly.
A community, not just a workplaceWork+Play Hub is built around human connection. That includes the team.
Inclusive by designWe welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
Current vacancies
Work+Play Hub is looking for an experienced, qualified, and deeply committed Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our small but growing team. This is a rare opportunity to work in Scotland's first fully integrated coworking and early years hub — a model that exists nowhere else.
You will lead our Froebelian crèche, working directly with children aged 0–5 in a play-based environment developed in partnership with the University of Edinburgh's Froebelian Futures Programme. You will also play a key role in shaping our early years provision as we grow.

Volunteers are the essential lifeblood of any charity. Your help allows us to carry out our mission and support the community — and we wholeheartedly welcome your involvement.
We are a small team doing a lot. If you have expertise you are willing to share — even for a few hours a month — you can have a real impact on what we are able to build. All ages welcome!
Email us at hello@workplusplayhub.com with a brief note about your skills and how you'd like to help. No formal application needed — just a conversation.
Why volunteer with us
Volunteering with Work+Play Hub is not about filling a gap. It is about contributing something meaningful to a community that needs it — and seeing the direct result of your efforts.
We are small enough that every contribution is visible. You will know what difference you made.
As the hub expands, there may be opportunities for volunteers to move into paid roles. Many of our best relationships started with a conversation.
Everyone connected to Work+Play Hub — staff, volunteers, members — is part of the same community. You won't feel like an outsider.
Email us with a brief note about your skills and availability. We'll take it from there — no forms, no formality, just a conversation about how you can help.
Future roles
We are growing. New roles will come up as we expand — in early years, operations, communications, and more. Leave your details and we'll be in touch when something relevant comes up.
Students and trainees are also very welcome to get in touch about placements — email us directly at hello@workplusplayhub.com.
